Enfermedad restrictiva, lentamente progresiva y de larga evolución

La artrosis de cadera es una forma frecuente de artrosis y una de las principales causas de limitación de la actividad locomotora y discapacidad funcional que puede progresar hasta el punto de hacer inevitable la sustitución articular.
La artroplastia total de cadera consigue unos resultados técnicos excelentes, con una supervivencia a los 10 años superior al 95%, una supervivencia del implante a los 25 años superior al 80% y unos beneficios significativos para el dolor, la movilidad y la función física.
