Un paciente varón de 66 años acude a la consulta externa debido a un dolor en la rodilla derecha de 2 años de duración, refractario al tratamiento médico optimizado. Esto está afectando gravemente a su calidad de vida.
En la exploración física, se queja de dolor intenso a la movilización activa, la rodilla está rígida y con crepitación. La radiografía muestra estrechamiento del espacio articular, esclerosis subcondral y osteofitos marginales.
